sol nox
Though my time with sol nox was short and I wish I could’ve done much more, I was thankful for it as I loved meeting people in the NWA area, utilizing my lighting knowledge, getting a feel for what day-long product shoots would feel like, and it was another experience of learning to keep up a daily instagram feed that is consistent and grows a following.
My summer internship during 2021 was with a local photo studio in Fayetteville, AR called sol nox. At sol nox I worked with the owners, a photography couple, by doing some second shooting for some big product shoots they had for clients such as Happy Egg and Aisle9. Additionally, I ran their social media page by scheduling and creating posts, taking some photos of the studio on my own time for some extra content, and communicating with clients who booked the studio - driving over and unlocking the studio and showing them around if they were first-time users.
Working with sol nox brought some new experiences such as using what I learned in lighting studio classes in the real world, real-time problem solving, becoming a second shooter and how that changes my interaction with clients, and pulling content for social media from a backlog rather than creating each image myself.
